Game Recap by Livingston Co. News staff
Cohocton - Kyle Peebles' 38-yard TD run in the final 2 minutes gave host Wayland-Cohocton the big D-1 victory over the LeRoy Oatkan Knights.

W-C scored first in this one as Peebles hit paydirt from 3 yards out while Dane St. George booted the PAT, making it 7-0 Eagles.

The hosts added to their advantage in the 2nd quarter when QB Ryan Kuhn connected with Shawn Marin for a 6-yard TD strike, putting the Eagles up by a 13-0 tally.

The Knights came charging back. Just prior to intermission, LR QB Quentin Humphrey threw a 25-yard TD pass to Jake Seppe-Schultz to make it 13-6 at the break. It was the first varsity game and touchdown by Jake Seppe-Schultz after being injured in the Knights' year opening scrimmage in Victor.

In the 3rd quarter, it was more of the same as the Knights came charging out of the locker room and went to work as Humphrey broke loose on a 41-yard TD run to tie the contest at 13.

The Eagles made a huge defensive stand late in the contest, stopping the Knights at the W-C 3-yard line, thus preventing a go-ahead touchdown by the visitors. The Eagles commenced to drive 97 yards for the victory. On the way, W-C overcame a 2nd-and-25 situation as DJ Harris picked up a huge 1st down. Ryan Gibbs connected on some key passes in the drive to aid the W-C cause. With 2 minutes remaining, Peebles broke free for his game winning jaunt.

DJ Harris led Way-Co with 106 yards on 15 carries while Peebles carried 6 times for 53 yards and 2 scores. Quentin Humphrey led the LR rushing attack, notching 105 yards on 18 carries. Teammate Rick Henry garnered 58 yards on 13 rushes. Humphrey passed for 97 yards, going 6 of 11 with one TD pass (to Seppe-Schultz). Cal Whiting led the LeRoy defensive charge with 10 tackles, while Brandon Monteleone recorded a sack amongst his 8 tackles for the Knights.
