- It was a matchup between a pair of 2-0 Livingston Conference rivals
Friday night at Letchworth High School, but it was Le Roy that showed
its dominance for the third week in a row.
Senior quarterback Mike McMullen was 7-for-8 for 156 yards and three
touchdowns, while the Oatkan Knights took a 41-0 lead into the half
en route to a 61-12 drubbing of the Indians.
Ryan McQuillen caught a pair of passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns
and Nick Egeling led the Le Roy ground game with 71 yards on six carries;
the Oatkan Knights first team offense did not play in the second half.
A Jon Pierce 3-yard run and a 33-yard strike from McMullen to McQuillen
made it 14-0 after the first quarter.
Le Roy then opened it up in the second. McMullen struck through the
air two more times - 15 yards to Tom Kelso and 59 yards to McQuillen
- before Egeling and Pierce both added 7-yard touchdowns in the 27-point
quarter to stretch the LeRoy lead.
Egeling added a 25-yard touchdown run and a 65-yard yard kickoff return
for a score in the third quarter.
The Indians scored on a 3-yard run from Trevor Owens in the third and
a 4-yard Curtis Hoffman run in the fourth.
Nate Flint finished the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown in the fourth
quarter for the Oatkan Knights.
Kelso added 45 yards on five carries and 32 yards receiving on three
catches for Le Roy, which has outscored its first three opponents by
a combined 148-20 on its way to 3-0. The first team defense of the Knights
has yet to yield a single point.
Kody Lamkin led the Oatkan Knights defense with seven tackles and a
sack and McMullen added an interception.
