look at the 2017 LeRoy Oatkan
LeRoy Oatkan Knights football team is looking to make changes this year.
First on the list is consistency. In the games they won last year the
Knights outscored their opponents 121-20, but in the games that they
lost it was by an average of 38 points. If the Knights are to have any
chance at making a sectional title run, consistency on both sides of
the ball is a must this season.
This fact was not overlooked by the program during the off-season. A
commitment to resistance training was made by the players at the school
and at various lifting establishments throughout the village. It started

spring and summer. The results will be apparent as the program looks
to view 2016 far back in the rear view mirror.
The 2017 campaign starts with a home opener at Hartwood Park against
the Dansville Mustangs. Game 2 sees the Knights make the long trip southward
to battle an always game Wayland Cohocton squad. The Knights return
on Friday, September 15th, for the annual rival battle with the Cal-Mum/Byron
Bergen Red Raiders at home. The three weeks following the CM-BB clash
will see the Knights take on the likes of Avon, Notre Dame of Batavia,
and Livonia, all on the road. The final regular season game with see

The Knights return seven starters from last year's squad. Seniors Bryce
Bordonaro, Tyler Rider, Luke Stella, Gaven Cassidy, Cole Biggins, along
with juniors Reece Tresco and Bobby Locke will form the nucleus of the
team. Sophomore Jake Hill has worked diligently in the off season and
will start at quarterback.
Look for strong interior line play from seniors Jose Mendez, Tom Mellon,
Steve Lyness, and Zach Boneberg. Seniors TY Williams, Gavin Luckey,
Jake Gale, Ethan Roy, and Marcus Jackson will all be playing at a variety
Moving up from the JV squad and adding much to the team will be Kyler
